Until recently, the cure for varicose veins was almost as grisly as the condition itself. Removing those big hammocks of veins from the knees, thighs and calves required surgery (aka “stripping) under general anesthesia and an overnight hospital stay. Now we can eliminate spider veins with VersaPulse® Laser. Best for spider veins of the legs, it can also be used to eliminate red spots on the face and body and help shrink prominent blood vessels of the hands and feet. Immediately after treatment, the vein will actually appear darker, but shortly thereafter the vein will fade. Laser treatment of leg veins usually requires several visits. The area around spider veins often changes pigment, so I also recommend Pigment Formula for patients who require vein treatment. After treatment, patients –many of whom have had unsightly veins for years – are happy to report that they can now where shorts, skirts and show off their legs with confidence.

Last week The Wall Street Journal wrote an article about those pesky little spider veins on the face, especially around the nose and cheek area. Some people flush easily, either from embarrassment, or especially around the holidays from drinking alcohol and excessive eating. Inflammation from acne or rosacea can increase blood flow to the face, making spider veins more visible. Rosacea is one of the most common skin diseases with more than fourteen million Americans affected.
What can you do to prevent flare ups? While limiting alcohol intake and high sodium, fatty foods can be beneficial, following a daily skin care regimen will help your skin respond to holiday stresses. Use a mild non-foaming Daily Cleanser will leave skin fresh and silky smooth. A Daily Toner will help shrink pores and firm skin, followed up AHA Face Cream, which exfoliates without irritating or flaking. Lastly, applying Pigment Formula loaded with zinc and vitamin E will reduce skin discolorations.
My combination Skin Treatment helps smooth, tighten, and even out the skin. This non-surgical process involves a stacking method using microdermabrasion, NdYag laser, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), Light Emitting Diode (LED) that work together to effectively smooth and tighten the skin and finishes with a microinfusion that enhances exfoliation and skin rejuvenation by delivering Dr. Copeland’s potent age-reversing skin care serum deeper into the skin for instantaneous results of unparalleled clarity. It is a quick procedure without associated flaking or downtime; you can even have it done on your lunch hour! You can keep your skin looking healthy and young during the busy holiday season.

What can I do about unsightly veins on my legs?
Until recently, the cure for varicose veins was almost as grisly as the condition itself. Removing those big hammocks of veins from the knees, thighs and calves required surgery (aka “stripping) under general anesthesia and an overnight hospital stay. Now we can eliminate spider veins and varicose veins with our VersaPulse® Laser. The intravascular laser can treat leg vessels of all sizes without requiring surgery. Immediately after treatment, the vein will actually appear darker, but shortly thereafter the vein will fade. Laser treatment of leg veins usually requires several visits, but permanently reverses the condition. The area around spider veins often changes pigment, so I also recommend Pigment Formula for patients who require vein treatment. After treatment, patients –many of whom have had unsightly veins for years – are happy to report that they can now where shorts, skirts and show off their legs with confidence.

This 48-year-old was bothered by the broken vessels on her legs and too embarrassed to wear shorts or a bathing suit in the summer. After just two treatments with the VersaPulse® laser, the difference is easy to see!
